Distilled from History

A generational story that begins with late 1800s farming, carried forward through family and into historical craft distilling.

Homestead

Rooted in York’s Heritage

Since the late 1800s, the Ashworth family has worked the land on the eastern side of York, Western Australia. Established by the early farming generations, Redhill Farm became the heart of the Ashworth name.

In more recent years, family sales have seen most of the Redhill Farm holdings move out of original Ashworth hands, including parts of the original homestead. What remains are the two final parcels of the original title still held by the Ashworth family, preserving more than 130 years of Redhill heritage.

Coffin Rock, that is an Unusual Name?

Clive, the last Ashworth to farm Redhill, entered into partnership with his father and uncle to purchase a property on Sandgate Road. He aptly named it Coffin Rock to reflect the unique coffin-shaped layout of one of the paddocks.

Clive continued to work both Redhill and Coffin Rock until the Sandgate Road property was sold, after which he returned fully to Redhill as its custodian until his passing.

Uniting our histories

Redhill stands on more than 130 years of Ashworth farming heritage, and Coffin Rock holds the resilience and honour of our father’s legacy

As the fifth generation tied to this land, we are committed to revitalising what remains of Redhill by restoring its agricultural purpose, rebuilding community ties and supporting sustainable farming for the future.

Coffin Rock Distillery is the next chapter in this land’s story, carrying forward the work of past generations and honouring both the Redhill roots and the Coffin Rock legacy as we distil something new for those who come next.

A Working Future

Looking ahead, Coffin Rock Distillery returns purpose to the land through diversified farming, value-added production and long-term stewardship. By combining traditional agriculture with craft distilling, the farm remains productive, relevant and sustainable for future generations.

Through our paddock to your glass approach, we invite visitors to join our journey, to learn how raw materials are grown, how they are transformed, and why the land itself matters and requires care. It offers a behind-the-scenes look at production, surrounded by active farmland that continues to produce, evolve and remain rooted in purpose.
